SULAIMANI – The Turkish warplane on Friday (June 25) bombed the suspected sites of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the vicinity of Mizhe village, juts five kilometers away from the center of Amedi district northeast of Duhok.

The area was bombed three times since the morning and a loud voice was heard, as well as the bombardment was ongoing as of reporting the news story, Zhyan News Network reporter Mehvan Amedi near the site of the bombing reported.

No damage has been determined yet, but the residents are afraid of the ongoing airstrikes and artillery fries from the Turkish army.

On Wednesday, the Turkish warplanes bombed several areas in  Mizhe and Spindar villages thirteen times.  over 100 livestock including sheep were killed after the Turkish airstrikes targeted a farming project near Spidar village.

Turkey’s airstrikes and artillery shelling are almost a daily occurrence in the Kurdistan Region’s border areas.

Since April 23, Turkey has started a large-scale operation against the PKK in Duhok’s border areas and erected several military bases adding up to dozen others in the Region.

A civilian was killed and four others have been wounded in Turkey’s new push since late April.

Turkey has erected new military bases adding up to already existing ones.

Over twenty-two villages have been evacuated and 1,500 civilians have been displaced due to Turkey’s bombardments since the new Turkish operation started, the Christian Peacemaker Teams in the Kurdistan Region (CPT-IK) said in early June.

Several lawmakers and local and international organizations have sounded alarm over the effects of the Turkey’s operation over the life of the locals and environments as Turkey is accused of cutting down and looting trees in the restive areas.
