3 PKK, Peshmerga members died in vehicle fire in Qandil mountainside

SULAIMANI – A Peshmerga and two Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) fighters were killed on board a Kia Cerato vehicle on Wednesday (June 30) after it turned over and caught fire in Kurtak Hairpin turns in PKK-held Qandil mountainside, a source said.
The Peshmerga member had been arrested by the PKK fighters for almost a day, Spokesperson for Raparin Civil Defense Police Directorate told Zhyan News Network.
Zhyan has learned that the Peshmerga member, Dawd Hussein from Shinawa village in Erbil’s Choman district. was affiliated with the Peshmerga Forces 70 Command affiliated with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PKK).
Elsewhere in Khanaqin, a Peshmerga committed suicide while on duty near the district, a Spokesperson for Garmian Police Directorate Ali Jamal claimed.
