Iraqis, foreigners entering Kurdistan should test negative for COVID-19

SULAIMANI – Iraqi and foreign nationals should test negative 72 hours before entering the Kurdistan Region through the international border crossings, said the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ministry of Interior on Monday (March 8).
The ministry said in a statement that the arrivals also should quarantine for a period determined by the health ministry without specifying how that will be determined.
The new order will go into effect from Monday (March 8) on.
In the past few weeks, many new COVID-19 cases have emerged in Iraq and Kurdistan Region and a constant increase in the number of active Coronavirus cases have been seen.
On Monday, the KRG Ministry of Health recorded 344 new coronavirus cases, four new deaths and 114 recoveries over past 24 hours.
Overall, there have been 110,856 officially-logged cases. Out of that, 104,602 have recovered and 3,541 have died.
