Sulaimani – Kurdistan Region Vice President Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa said on Tuesday (February 9) that there is no a Kurdish leader to get together all the Kurdistan Region’s political parties and resolve the inter-party issues.

During his fleeting three-day trip (March 5-8) through Iraq, Pope Francis visited Erbil on Sunday  and was received by officials and leaders from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).

There were no leaders from other political parties apart from the KDP leaders in the event.

“It is right that some of the political parties had not come, but I think they were already informed and did not come,” Sheikh Jaafar told Voice of America (VOA) during an interview.
“They [Kurdish political parties] cannot resolve the smallest problems, this means the disputes are profound,” he said.

The vice president also rhetorically questioned “if the problems are seeming and simple things, why do they not each a result.”

“If [the disputes] are not over the good things, Kurdish causes, principles, the nation’s destiny, Kurdistan independence and the Kurdish entity. Those who hear them should know it is over what”
