The PKK has not issued a statement on the incident.

Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and high Turkish military officials visited Sirnak on Saturday (February 13) near the border to oversee operations in Gara mountain.

Turkish warplanes have intensified airstrikes against suspected positions of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the Kurdistan Region, damaging civilian houses and causing fear among residents on the border.

Turkish and Iranian military attacks in the Kurdistan Region have often failed to take adequate precautions to minimize civilian casualties, this has cost the lives of hundreds of Kurdish residents from border areas.
