SULAIMANI – About six rockets landed near a base of the Peshmerga forces in Kirkuk’s Prde area (Altun Kupri) on Monday night (March 29).
No casualties were reported to the rocket attack and the launching point is unknown so far, the Iraqi media outlets reported.
"Within the boundaries of the activities of Peshmerga Ministry's 10th parade brigade at Pirde-Dibiz frontier, near Nabi Awa village, a number of missiles were launched at the Peshmerga bases, but the Peshmerga suffered no casualties and no damage to their bases," the Peshmerga Ministry said.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack, but armed Shia militia groups backed by Iran are known for launching similar rocket attacks.
A rocket attack on February 15 in Erbil which was claimed by a Shia militia group killed two people and wounded eight others, including one US service member and a civilian contractor.
