PDKI-affiliated group claims responsibility for killing IRGC member

SULAIMANI – A group affiliated with the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI or HDKA) claimed responsibility for the killing of a member of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), saying it was in revenge of murdering one of PDKI Peshmerga.
“The Zagros Hawk group announces punishing criminal traitor and murderer of martyred Peshmerga Rahim Garluli,” the group said in a statement on its official website.
IRGC member and a resident of Piranshar in the province of Urmia, Osman Haji Husseini was shot dead while driving his car in Ziwya village, Hengaw Human Rights Organization reported.
The PDKI, also known as the Kurdish Democratic Party of Iran (PDKI), is an armed party of Kurds in Iran. It is banned in Iran and designated by Tehran as a terrorist organization.
Since 1979, KDPI has waged a persistent guerrilla war against the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The group calls for self-determination of the Kurdish people and has been described as seeking either separatism or autonomy within a federal system.
