SULAIMANI – Turkish warplanes on Wednesday (February 24) conducted airstrikes in the Kurdistan Region’s Qandil Mount and Warte area against suspected positions of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

The Turkish airstrikes targeted areas near the populated villages of Bokriskan and Lewzha in the Mount of Qandil.

Areas near Warte’s Drabi Mount, in the Rawanduz district of Erbil province, also came under attack of the Turkish warplanes where a force affiliated to the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) is establishing a military base.

Turkish Defense Ministry on Sunday (February 14) announced completion of second phase of “Operation Claw-Eagle” in Duhok’s Gara mountain against Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Turkish warplanes have intensified airstrikes against suspected positions of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the Kurdistan Region, damaging civilian houses and causing fear among residents on the border.

Turkish and Iranian military attacks in the Kurdistan Region have often failed to take adequate precautions to minimize civilian casualties, this has cost the lives of hundreds of Kurdish residents from border areas.
