Iran bans parents of Ramin Hossein Panahi from traveling abroad

SULAIMANI – The Iranian security forces banned parents of executed Kurdish political prisoner Ramin Hossein Panahi are banned to go abroad for five months, a family member said on Monday (April 26).  

Amjad Hossein Panahi said on his official Facebook account that the Iranian security forces seized his parents’ passports last year and banned them from traveling outside Iran for five years.

He also said that her parents knew the ban after they visited an Iranian interior ministry’s offices.

“It was announced that under the order of the Sanandaj Intelligence Department, not only passports of my parents will not be returned, but they are banned to travel outside Iran for five years under the new order,” he added. 

On September 8,2018, political prisoner Ramin Hossein Panahi was executed by the Iranian authorities in Rajahi Shahr prison in Alborz province’s Karaj despite calls by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCHR) and the Amnesty international for the annulment of the execution.
