SULAIMANI – Spokesperson for the federal government Hassan Nadhem said on Wednesday (February 24) that the talks on the draft 2021 Iraqi Budget Law are at the final stages to be put into voting in the Council of Representatives in the near future.
“I have talked about that several times that the budget is at the final stages for determining the Kurds’ share,” Nazim told Zhyan.
KRG delegations headed by Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani has visited Baghdad several times to hammer out a deal with the federal authorities about the outstanding issues related to the Region’s handover of oil and the budget share Baghdad sends to it in return.
“Kurdistan Region’s delegation should visit Baghdad again once more to settle all the problems. I believe we will reach to a solution to all the problems between us.”
The federal official declined to comment on cooperation between the Peshmerga and the federal security forces in the disputes areas.
Earlier on Wednesday, KRG spokesperson Jotial Adil said at a news conference that the atmosphere surrounding the negotiations between both governments is “positive”.
“we want to make an agreement with Baghda, and consented to implement all the terms in the draft budget law,” Adil said.
